Nestled in the idyllic village of Hasapur, we are practitioners of organic and sustainable farming, blending traditional wisdom with modern advancements. Starting with a humble first-generation vegetable farm on a long-forgotten orchard land, we have now expanded our horizons to organic produce and also established a dairy farm featuring Indigenous Gir cows from Gujarat. Chaitanya Malik, a computer engineer turned farmer, transitioned from bytes to bites after studying at Goa Engineering College Farmagudi. Alongside his father, Dr. Bhiwa Malik, he ventured into organic agriculture, aiming to make sustainable farming a full-time endeavor. Starting with a poly-house, their farm now includes a gaushala with Desi Gir cows. In 2022, they launched Agro Tourism, offering farm walks, gaushala visits, and relaxation by Goa's largest natural swimming pool, inspiring others to embrace farming positively. Sawani Shetye-Malik is an archaeologist driven by a profound love for Goa's culture and heritage. Through her dedicated efforts, she has reshaped the perception of Goa, transcending its image beyond beaches to portray it as a vibrant hub of cultural richness. Leveraging her expertise, Sawani conducts talks, workshops, and heritage tours to highlight Goa's diverse heritage and traditions. At Dr. Malik's farm, she channels her passion into crafting immersive experiences that allow visitors to delve deep into nature's embrace while immersing themselves in the region's cultural tapestry. Sawani meticulously curates farm visit experiences, incorporating hands-on activities tailored for various age groups, alongside promoting the work of local craftspeople and artists. Additionally, she collaborates with her mother and mother-in-law to design a diverse farm-to-table menu, showcasing the bounty of local produce and flavors unique to the region
Dr. Malik's Farm is the perfect weekend getaway after a hectic week. Surrounded by lush greenery, the natural-flow swimming pool and activities like horse rides, tractor rides, and an educational tour with a 'गौशाला' make it unique. I’ve visited multiple times and will definitely return—an ideal spot for families, friends, and all age groups!
Dr. Malik's Agro Tourism in Pernem is a special place! We were a group of 10 adults and 7 kids, and the farm tour led by Chaitanya was both informative and fun. The tractor ride to the cowshed, feeding the cattle, and the refreshing natural pool were highlights for everyone. Despite the heat, the sprinklers kept the farm cool, and the authentic Goan lunch, especially the pineapple sasav, was delicious. We left with wonderful memories—thank you, Dr. Malik, Chaitanya, and Sawani for an unforgettable experience!
It was worth going to this place to explore and enjoy your self with nice fresh n cool water along with fresh air inhaling it ...The food was just delicious and oil free....how u can make the best use of ur small land for cultivating papayas ,bananas, bhedi and so on using coir ropes technics were shown ...and enjoying with your friends family gives more colours to that place...only thing it looks far from south side of Goa. God's beautiful free gift nature just explore my friends ❤️🙏
Our school field trip organized for students of std XI &XII to Dr Malik's Farm at Pedne was resourceful and joyous. Being born and bread in urban areas, the students found this rustic experience very enchanting. It was a treat to the eye to see them feed and fondle the cattle and enjoy the tractor ride. It awakened their curiosity and induce them to dive deep to elicit information about various crops and veggies grown at the farm. Sawaani's thorough explanation was very impressive and enriching. It's worth paying visit to this rustic yet surreal place.
